Meet The Founder

Ruben Ochoa

Ruben Ochoa

Ruben Ochoa, based in Scottsdale/Phoenix Arizona, is an American entrepreneur, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and business strategist known for his expertise in general contracting, roofing, architectural metalwork, and real estate repair solutions. He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SF Industries, a multi-state, veteran-owned enterprise that oversees several specialty contracting and service-based companies. Ochoa is also the founder of The Bloom Project, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young entrepreneurs.

Early Life and Personal Background

At the age of 18, Ruben Ochoa enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served with distinction. His time in the military laid a strong foundation for his future success, instilling in him the core values of discipline, integrity, leadership, and the enduring motto Semper Fidelis (“Always Faithful”). These principles would not only shape his personal philosophy but would later become the cornerstone of his professional identity—forming the basis for the name and mission of SF (Semper Fi) Industries.

At 21, shortly after his military service, Ochoa made the life-changing decision to adopt his younger sister, stepping into the role of both guardian and provider. This defining moment further shaped his perspective on responsibility and resilience—values that continue to drive his leadership style and entrepreneurial pursuits.

Career

Ruben Ochoa launched his first business at age 21 and quickly immersed himself in the world of construction and home services. Through trial, error, and hands-on experience, he built a foundation of practical knowledge and business acumen. By the age of 28, he had grown and sold one of his early ventures, Revamp Roofing and Restoration, which marked an important milestone in his entrepreneurial journey.

Following that success, Ochoa established SF Industries, a veteran-owned, multi-trade company based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Built on scalable systems, operational excellence, and a client-first mindset, SF Industries operates across multiple states and includes a portfolio of specialty service brands such as:

  • SF Roofing – Commercial roofing and real estate partner support
  • SF Metals – Custom architectural metalwork
  • SF Contracting – New builds and commercial tenant improvements
  • Buddies Incorporated (BINSR Buddies) – Pre-listing and post-inspection repair solutions

The “SF” in SF Industries stands for Semper Fi, a tribute to Ochoa’s Marine Corps background and a guiding principle in his leadership—always faithful to quality, clients, and service.

The Bloom Project

Driven by a passion for mentorship and economic empowerment, Ochoa founded The Bloom Project, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. BLOOM stands for Building Leadership Opportunities through Organizations and Mentorships.
